The Moon you see on Oh My Luna is a visualisation rendered in real time from published lunar exploration data. It is not a photograph taken on a particular date. Below are the sources for every external asset used on screen.
Lunar surface data
Every Moon on the site — the main screen, share images, favicon and app icon — is rendered directly from a sphere textured with these two maps.

NASA and its affiliated agencies do not endorse or sponsor Oh My Luna. NASA material is used only as published open data, and NASA logos and insignia are not used.
The Moon on screen is a visualisation for presentation. Lighting and texture are adjusted to look well, and differ from the real viewing direction and from terrain shadowing. Use it as a reference for observing plans, not as a measurement.
