Observation details

Altitude refers to the Moon’s centre without atmospheric refraction. Near the horizon, actual visibility can differ.

Surface orientation uses an IAU lunar rotation model. The rendering is not a photometric prediction.

Calculated, enlarged simulation — not a live camera. Clouds, terrain and buildings are not included. Brightness is illustrative.

Explore the Moon from eight cities at the same instant. Compare its direction, height and orientation, or preview another time.
