Terms of service

These terms set out the conditions for using the Moon phase, moonrise and moonset information and related features provided by Oh My Luna (the “Service”), together with the rights and obligations of the Service and its users.

These terms take effect when posted on the Service. They may be amended within the limits of applicable law, and any amendment is announced on this page at least seven days before it takes effect. Changes unfavourable to users are announced thirty days in advance. Continuing to use the Service after an announcement is treated as acceptance of the amended terms.

The Service is free and open to anyone without registration or sign-in. It covers Moon phase and illumination, moonrise and moonset times, lunar calendar conversion, Moon event schedules, observing-condition guidance, and the 3D visualisation that presents them.

The Service may change what it provides or discontinue individual features. Unless applicable law provides otherwise, no separate compensation is offered for changes to or discontinuation of features that are provided free of charge.

Provision may be suspended temporarily for equipment maintenance or replacement, loss of connectivity, failures at the hosting or external data providers, natural disasters and other events beyond reasonable control. Planned interruptions are announced in advance where practicable.

Users must not do any of the following.

• Automated bulk requests, crawling or load generation at a level that interferes with normal operation of the Service
• Reverse-engineering the Service's source code or API, or reproducing or distributing it without authorisation
• Redistributing information provided by the Service as their own without attribution
• Infringing the rights of other users or third parties, or violating applicable law
• Circumventing the Service's security measures or exploiting vulnerabilities

Rights in the Service's design, screen composition, copy, source code and 3D works belong to the Service. Rights in the external data and assets the Service uses belong to their respective holders; the list and their licences are on the credits page.

The embeddable widget the Service provides may be placed freely on personal blogs and websites. It must not be altered in what it displays, have its attribution obscured, or be used to present information the Service does not vouch for as if it came from the Service.

The astronomical information the Service provides consists of predicted values based on published astronomical models. Actual observations may differ with the altitude and terrain of the observing site, atmospheric refraction, and weather.

The Moon on screen is a visual representation rendered from published lunar exploration data. It is not a photograph taken on a particular date, nor photometric data. Lighting and texture are adjusted for presentation.

Weather forecasts included in observing-condition guidance come from an external provider, and the Service does not warrant their accuracy.

Users must not rely on the Service's information alone for decisions about night activity, travel, photography, navigation, or anything else affecting safety or property. The Service is not liable for inaccuracies or for the consequences of use, except in cases of wilful misconduct or gross negligence.

The Service handles user information in accordance with its privacy policy.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Any dispute between the Service and a user is brought before the court having jurisdiction under the Korean Civil Procedure Act.
